Every biodiesel reaction produces a 20% yield of crude glycerine. Footprint recycles this product into a medium-duty hand cleanser. The soap is packaged in containers salvaged from our clients and from the Arcata Community Recycling Center in another effort to reuse waste products in our community.

Footprint is constantly engaged in projects to improve usage of the glycerine product. Currently, Michael Koger is engineering a still to purify the glycerine. Purified glycerine is a valuable commodity used in dozens of industries. Glycerine is primarily used in cosmetics and lotions in addition to soap, as well as in pharmaceuticals.
